(Bucks County, PA) The reinvented 2011 Official Bucks County Destination Guide is making it even easier for visitors to build itineraries and get educated about the county’s tourism highlights. In addition to the information provided in the Destination Guide, visitors and locals will be also enjoy a multitude of new and exciting renovations, additions, and events planned for this year.
The Destination Guide Gets a Makeover!
The 83-page guide has a new look, design and focus. It incorporates feature stories highlighting the county’s bed & breakfasts, outdoor recreation, wineries, LGBT travel, and more. Follow That Local includes itineraries by residents providing visitors with an insider’s look at favorite hotspots around town. Visitors are encouraged to share their experiences as well with the Picture Perfect Photo Contest. This year’s guide also contains a section dedicated to those planning meetings, events, group tours, and sports tournaments. What’s New for 2011:
Expanding “The Green Way”
The Mercer Museum will be welcoming a 13,000-square-foot environmentally friendly expansion this summer! The $12 million project incorporates green elements in the construction that will provide the Mercer Museum with a 1,000-square-foot multi-flex learning center to accommodate school programs, workshops and adult classes, and an increased exhibit area. www.mercermuseum.org
Bucks County Welcomes Murray the Monster!
Sesame Place, the nation’s only theme park based entirely on the award-winning show Sesame Street, opens two new exciting attractions in 2011! The “Neighborhood Street Party” parade features 11 larger-than-life floats and Elmo’s Cloud Chaser is a new family swing ride located in Elmo’s World. Sesame Street’s favorite friends also welcome Murray the Monster to Sesame Place as a new character to the park this year. www.sesameplace.com

A $15 million expansion for PARX Casino and PARX East provides a new hotspot for visitors and locals looking for lively entertainment and meeting space.
