BUCKS COUNTY, P.A. (November 9, 2018) – Bucks County is a magical place to visit during the holidays and the Tourism Office is taking steps to drive visitation in the wintertime.

Beginning November, Visit Bucks County’s (VBC) holiday advertising campaign is appearing on Uber and Lyft vehicles in New York City, billboards and transit ads throughout Northern New Jersey and digitally targeting tourists in N.Y., N.J., Washington D.C. and Philadelphia. The campaign will gain nearly 27 million impressions in these markets. The advertising creative showcases many of the area’s popular tourist holiday attractions, including The Christmas Crossing at Washington Crossing Historic Park, Peddler’s Village, A Very Furry Christmas at Sesame Place®, New Hope & Ivyland Railroad and Shady Brook Farm’s Annual Holiday Light Show.

Once visitors arrive, they can eat, drink, shop and be merry at main street tree lightings and parades scattered throughout the countryside. Visitors should make the Bucks County Visitor Center in Bensalem their first-stop to see Holiday Trees, a brand-new holiday tree installation by former White House decorator, Coleen Christian Burke. They can also pick up an exclusive Holidays in Bucks County brochure complete with coupons for area attractions and events.

VBC will also promote holiday attractions for locals to visit in their own backyard. The tourism office is partnering with Shady Brook Farm to add a Visit Bucks County holiday light installation to their Annual Holiday Light Show.  A Holidays in Bucks County brochure listing the Top 25 Holiday Happenings in the area will also be distributed at the Bucks County Visitor Center and distributed as an insert the Bucks County Herald.

A 32-foot steel structure of 'Bucks County' will now rotate throughout the County in 2019, providing an opportunity for visitors to pose and post their photos with for social media.

“The holiday attractions in Bucks County have grown and expanded over the years making this area the perfect destination for an extended holiday getaway,” says Jerry Lepping, President/COO of Visit Bucks County. “Our goal is to bring visitors to the area to experience the festivities and have them return year after year.”

HOLIDAY TREES AT THE BUCKS COUNTY VISITOR CENTER

Brand new in 2018, former White House Decorator Coleen Christian Burke is decking the halls at the Bucks County Visitor Center in Bensalem with 18 beautifully decorated trees that will be on display from November 16, 2018 to January 2, 2019. Burke, an author, designer, entrepreneur and Bucks County native from Washington Crossing, led the annual White House Christmas decorating efforts under Presidents Bush and Obama. She created festive Fife and Drum motifs in the State Dining Room and beautiful icicle trees in the Grand Lobby, which she talks about in her book Christmas with the First Ladies: The White House Decorating Tradition from Jacqueline Kennedy to Michelle Obama.
