Eat Like a Local with Marisa Pilla

Wednesday, September 19, 2018 5:00 PM by Bucky

Local Philadelphia sports broadcaster and Bucks County native, Marisa Pilla, is a talented writer and reporter whose passion for sports is rivaled only by her love of local cuisine.

Marisa joined Philadelphia’s Major League Soccer team, the Philadelphia Union, in 2016 as the official Union Insider – hosting Union Pregame and Halftime Live shows on CSN Philly and 6ABC.

As a self-proclaimed foodie who has “eaten her way through some of the best cafes, pizza places, and dinner joints in Bucks County,” we sent her to some of the area’s best hidden gems to discover delicious bites that even locals may have yet to find…

There is something for everyone this weekend in Bucks County! From Sesame Place’s grand opening to the kickoff of Bucks County Restaurant Week to a ska music festival at Neshaminy Creek Brewing Company, this weekend is jam-packed with quite a variety of unique events.

Call me morbid, but I have always been fascinated by cemeteries. Maybe it’s the writer in me who is intrigued by the stories that lies behind each of the names carved into the polished stone, or the history nerd in me who is drawn to the dates marking the lives of those who walked the Earth at a different time...I’ve visited cemeteries from Europe to Bermuda and throughout the U.S. (I said it was okay to call me morbid). However, their history and their stories still don’t stack up to those found in one of my favorite graveyards – the Doylestown Historic Cemetery.

The second annual Bucks County Plein Air Festival will take place from June 5-11 and we’re so excited! From Monday through Thursday, look for artists laced about the county setting up their easels and painting beautiful landscapes, streetscapes, people, or whatever else captures their imagination.
