Call me morbid, but I have always been fascinated by cemeteries. Maybe it’s the writer in me who is intrigued by the stories that lies behind each of the names carved into the polished stone, or the history nerd in me who is drawn to the dates marking the lives of those who walked the Earth at a different time...I’ve visited cemeteries from Europe to Bermuda and throughout the U.S. (I said it was okay to call me morbid). However, their history and their stories still don’t stack up to those found in one of my favorite graveyards – the Doylestown Historic Cemetery.

The second annual Bucks County Plein Air Festival will take place from June 5-11 and we’re so excited! From Monday through Thursday, look for artists laced about the county setting up their easels and painting beautiful landscapes, streetscapes, people, or whatever else captures their imagination.

Despite all my finger crossing and emphatic wishing over the last month, Punxsutawney Phil has spoken. We’re in for a few more weeks of chilly temperatures and frosty winds. The good news is, while you wait for days filled with sunshine again, Bucks County is home to some of the coziest bookshops and cafes to keep you warm.

Capturing Aerial Images of Bucks County

I needed to get a bird’s eye view of landmarks and points of interest in Bucks County. This is possible with technology using unmanned aerial vehicles, a.k.a., drones, but I wanted to show a different view of Bucks County by getting high in the sky while taking video, 360 Virtual Reality panoramas and photos of locations in Bucks County. Since some areas are no-fly zones for drones, the only solution to capture these images was to take them from a helicopter.
