Artful Fabrics for Modern Quilts-Adinkra Printing
Fabrics from Africa are in demand by contemporary quilters. The continent has as many unique design traditions as there are cultural groups, including the Adinkra symbols and designs from the Akan people of Ghana. In this workshop, led by textile expert Cassandra Stancil Gunkel, learn to create an adinkra printing block. Then design your own black fabric, using your choice of colors. Leave with a half yard of fabric, ready to include in your own quilting or textile projects. Ages 14 and up. No prior experience necessary; all supplies provided. Space is limited, call to register.
