Children’s Craft Activity: Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead)
Day of the Dead—or Día de los Muertos—is observed on November 1 and 2 in many Hispanic cultures as a version of the Halloween holiday. It is a time to celebrate the lives of friends and family members. Revelers build altars in honor of the dead, and adorn them with colorful paper flowers, grinning skeletons and candles. Come and join in this celebration! Craft a model sugar skull or mask and listen to traditional Mexican tales by storyteller Michele Belluomini.
