Visit Perkasie Borough this spring to see an unusual and unique outdoor art installation. Local artists, crafters and volunteers will transform Menlo Park on Arthur Avenue with a colorful "Yarn Bloom". The Perkasie Yarn Bloom is part of an international “yarn bombing” movement, where artists use yarn crafts like knitting, crochet, weaving, embroidery, pompom making, braiding etc – to temporarily decorate and embellish trees, signposts, benches and other street furniture.

The Yarn Bloom will be installed in time for the Borough’s Earth Day celebration which will take place from 1pm-4pm on April 21st, and will remain in place until May 24th, 2018. Artwork will be repurposed in future installations and some pieces donated to animal shelters for bedding and toys.

The focus of the Yarn Bloom will be a large, temporary art installation by local artist and lifelong Perkasie resident, Tim Gibson – this artwork will be reminiscent of the design for Perkasie’s new mural that will be painted behind Borough Hall in June and will be an opportunity for residents and visitors to preview the mural project.
