Women History Makers of Bucks County and Beyond
Join the African American Museum of Bucks County in 2019 for a four-part Speaker Series. Each extraordinary presentation will reveal American and local history, up-close and personal. The museum is tapping local talent with unique personal and professional perspectives of history to enlarge and enrich your understanding of history.
Part Three of the series features Shirley Corsey, who is a 3rd generation family member from Yardley, Bucks County. She is a self-described "historian from the heart" whose mission includes sharing her knowledge and discovery of hidden figures, places and facts not known by the general public and/or buried in the historical archives of Bucks County. This presentation will highlight the often overlooked contributions that women have been making in our community over the past 2+ centuries to current time. Shirley invites you to "Her-story" and a fun opportunity for you to share your "hidden figures" from Bucks County, as well! Shirley's presentation helps us celebrate Women's History Month.
Upcoming presentations in this Speakers Series include:
April 13, 2019 - Josh Lee and the Family: African American Arts Finale: Jazz and the Great Migration
Doors open at 6:30 PM. This event includes historic exhibit, presentation and refreshments.
