(Bucks County, PA) Visit Bucks County recently unveiled the 11th Annual Bucks County Quilt Show on display at the Bucks County Visitor Center in Bensalem. Presented by The Quilt Academy of Bensalem and Quilts for Kids, this exhibit features 111 quilted pieces hanging from 25-foot high beams displayed throughout the Main Gallery.

Members of the Quilt Academy of Bensalem, an organization offering a variety of quilting classes, presented 101 pieces for this show, five of which were created between 1900 and 1930 by a member's great-grandmother. Additionally, Quilts for Kids, an organization that provides quilts for children in need, is displaying ten pieces. This Langhorne-based not-for-profit organization makes more than 30,000 quilts a year for children with life-threatening illnesses and victims of abuse, both locally and globally.

In order to raise funds and spread awareness, The Quilt Academy will be raffling off one quilt with proceeds benefiting ConKerr Cancer, a nationwide not-for-profit that provides homemade pillow cases to children suffering from life-threatening illnesses. ConKerr Cancer has delivered more than 990,000 pillowcases in just seven years to 250 hospitals throughout the country. Raffle tickets can be purchased for $2 each or three tickets for $5 at the Bensalem Visitor Center.

Stop by and browse the beautiful quilts and other pieces created by Bucks County locals and learn more about the inspiration behind each design, as well as the individuals who created them!
