Right here in Bucks County, you can enjoy the beauty of nature and walk around some of the most beautiful places, while magnificent butterflies are flying all around you! Here are some amazing butterfly stops where you can learn and see some beautiful butterflies in Bucks County.

The first place we stopped at was Bountiful Acres, located in Holicong. Bountiful Acres was originally owned by the Jamison family, who also built Peddler’s Village, and has now transformed into the full-service garden & landscaping center it is now thanks to the help of the, now owners, Flack family. Their Butterfly Atrium is a beautiful exhibit where you can learn about all of the different kinds of butterflies and watch them fly around you. You can also learn about the butterfly life cycle and how each butterfly lives. Fun fact: butterflies only live for three weeks! After you finish walking around the atrium, head on over to their nursery to take a look at their wonderful plants you can take home with you!

The Churchville Nature Center is another great location to learn about the butterfly cycle and understand how they live in their habitat. Located in Churchville, the Churchville Nature Center is an environmental education facility where you are able to explore their botanical gardens and educate yourself on butterflies. The Butterfly House showcases various native butterflies at the different stages of their lives. A big part of their house is their Catch-Breed-Release program, where they begin each season by collecting caterpillars, eggs, or butterflies of species to start their population and then release about 75%-90% back into the wild. Their main goal is to increase wild populations by raising these butterflies in a safe and secure environment. Looking at the butterflies' beautiful wings and understanding their cycle was incredible.

These butterfly visits are great for the entire family to learn more about nature and these beautiful creatures. You can also find even more of these amazing butterflies located at other butterfly gardens and all around Bucks County, like Silver Lake Nature Center, Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve, and Peace Valley Lavender Farm. Butterflies are always flying around the county and you don’t want to miss out on seeing them!
