Intro to Kayaking at Washington Crossing Historic Parking

Learn basic paddling skills while kayaking on the Delaware Canal. Participants will start out on land to familiarize ourselves with the parts of a kayak, basic paddling technique and water safety, then take to the water to try out what they have learned. Reservations are required.

A Walk Around the Giving Pond

Join the Friends of the Delaware Canal for a leisurely 2-mile walk around the pond and up on the Canal towpath to spot wildlife and enjoy the scenery. The sun will be setting and the heat of the day waning as we set off to explore a part of the Delaware Canal State Park Complex that lies adjacent to the towpath north of historic Uhlerstown.

“Racing: A Need for Speed” Drag Strip Memories Event at Mercer Museum

The Mercer Museum’s “Racing: A Need for Speed” exhibit explores the colorful history of racing in Bucks County, PA and the nearby Delaware Valley, from the footraces of the native Lenape to the fairs and horse tracks of the 1800s, to the auto speedways and bicycle velodromes of the 20th century. Join several drag racers, mechanics and engine builders as they remember the action and atmosphere of local drag strips in the 1950s and 1960s during the Drag Strip Memories event this Sunday!
