Flying Dog Brewery was born over 30 years ago when a group of oxygen- and alcohol-deprived amateur hikers convened in a Pakistan hotel room after summiting the world’s deadliest mountain. In 1990 they opened a brewpub in Woody Creek, Colorado. The tavern attracted ordinary neighbors and one less ordinary celebrity – gonzo journalist Hunter S. Thompson. Flying Dog Brewery is now located in Frederick, Maryland and is Maryland’s largest brewery.
