Cantus Novus continues their 20th anniversary season celebration with a program entitled Feel the Love, May 1, 2, and 3. This diverse concert features the most beloved songs from the chamber choir’s past twenty spring programs that celebrate love. Audiences will journey from a well-known setting of Robert Bridges' poetry to Tallis' famous motet on love, alongside a 21st-century take on the latter, before winding up in the Romantic era of Brahms.
These concerts will premiere a rollicking, finger-snapping adaptation of Bound for the Promised Land, commissioned by Cantus Novus and arranged by Rollo Dilworth in honor of this landmark anniversary. Prof. Dilworth, a friend of the choir, is an internationally respected educator, composer, and professor of Music Education at Temple University in Philadelphia.
Feel the Love will focus on what has made Cantus Novus beloved by audiences throughout the years: music that provokes a gamut of emotions—smiles, tears, thoughtful reflection—that will leave attendees with a song in their spirit for days to follow.
