The journey began for Davy Knowles learning to play guitar from listening to the guitar heroes in his father’s music collection - Gallagher, Clapton, Knopfler, Green and Mayall. He honed his skills playing the local music circuit. Knowles's professional career started with a bang – arriving in America at age 19 with his band Back Door Slam, an acclaimed debut album, and rave reviews at SXSW 2007. Knowles proceeded to make a significant impact across US media – from memorable TV performances to a three-year run at radio with several hot singles and his first two albums on the Top 3 Billboard Blues Chart.
His latest release, If I Should Wander, feels less like an album and more like a diary to Knowles. The songs were recorded at home, in his own in little music room in the flat where he lives. The album feels more like a confessional than a recording. No frills, no trickery and just one microphone. The instrument he used to write and record this album is a National Triolian resonator built in 1932 that he has owned for 15 years, and has played onstage all over the world. He feels like he has finally discovered what this instrument was truly made for.
Jeffrey Gaines has been heralded for his soul-searching lyrics and his powerful live performances. With only his voice and a guitar for accompaniment, Gaines has earned a reputation as a captivating performer, entertaining his audiences worldwide. Throughout his three-decade recording career, Gaines has maintained an impressive standard for soul-searching, introspective lyrics and catchy, uplifting melodies. Since bursting on the scene with his self-titled 1992 debut album, the charismatic singer-songwriter-guitarist has built a beloved body of recordings that’s won him a large and deeply devoted international fan base. He has sold out theaters and clubs throughout North America and Europe, and has earned high respect from his peers. Gaines’ critical acclaim, international tours and avid fan base have established him as one of the most treasured songwriters, vocalists and inspirations in music today.
