La Fiocco, Bucks County’s Baroque music ensemble, begins its 2023-24 season, with La Fête Galante, a program of French chamber music from the age of Louis XV. The program will include Jean-Philippe Rameau’s Pièce de Claveçin en Concert no. 5, François Couperin’s “Les Françoises” from “Les Nations,” Quartet in G major by Louis-Gabriel Guillemain, Trio Sonata in E minor by Marin Marais, and a Suite for two violas da gamba by Joseph Bodin de Boismortier.
The musicians performing on period instruments are Eve Friedman, baroque flute, Sarah Davol, baroque oboe, Nathan Bishop and Jimmy Drancsek, baroque violin, Donna Fournier and Vivian Barton Dozor, viola da gamba and baroque cello, Jorge Torres, theorbo and baroque guitar, and artistic director Lewis R. Baratz, harpsichord. The concert will take place at Trinity Episcopal Church, 6587 Upper York Road, Solebury, Pennsylvania on Sunday, October 29 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $25 general admission, $10 students, free for children 12 and under, and are available at the door (cash or check), or online by credit card at lafiocco.org.
