Passacaille: A Baroque Dance Extravaganza

La Fiocco, the Bucks County baroque ensemble, opens its season with Passacaille. This will be a special event featuring New York City-based BALAM Dance Theatre, who previously played with La Fiocco in 2019. A program of music and dance from the courts of Louis XIV, Louis XV, and Britain’s William & Mary, and from the Venetian Republic in the age of Vivaldi, it will feature splendid costumes, and there will even be an opportunity for the audience to learn a dance.

BALAM’s dancers include Carlos Fittante, Robin Gilbert, and Yukimo Niimi. La Fiocco’s musicians, who perform on period instruments, are Jeremy Rhizor, Kristina Giles, and Vita Wallace, baroque violin, Margrét Hjaltested, baroque viola, Donna Fournier, baroque cello, Jorge Torres, theorbo and baroque guitar, Owen Davitt, recorder, harpsichord, and tambourine, and Lewis R. Baratz, artistic director, recorder, and harpsichord.
