NATIVITIES IN BUCKS COUNTY

If Christmas is your favorite holiday, you're going to love celebrating the season in Bucks County! Two unique Bucks County attractions are home to special collections of Nativity scenes from around the world to remind you of the first Christmas. Start your group tour at the home of the world-famous Caroler® figurines and make your way to a Medieval inspired castle-like museum. Be sure to stop for lunch and then stay to explore even more history!

• The holidays begin in Bucks County at Byers' Choice, where every day feels like Christmas! Their museum in Chalfont is home to more than 200 creches, or nativities, from all over the globe. The creches vary in size, details and style, but they are all amazing in their own way! The highlight of the collection is an antique 18th century Italian presepio on display year-round. While visiting, enjoy the gardens and sculptures, stroll down cobblestone street scenes straight out of Victorian London, explore the miniature displays, watch artisans bring the whole world to life and check out the gift shop.

• Don't forget to make room for lunch! The Garden Terrace Restaurant at Spring Mill Country Club is conveniently located in Ivyland, Bucks County and open to the public for lunch and dinner Tuesday through Sunday. With floor to ceiling windows, take advantage of the fantastic views of the course's landscape. This ideal spot can easily accommodate large groups and offers options for every palette and budget.

• Step back in time at Glencairn Museum, a Medieval inspired castle-like museum in Bryn Athyn's National Historic Landmark District. From November 26, 2016 through January 2017, see outstanding art examples in the museum's World Nativities exhibition. The display includes dozens of three-dimensional nativities collected from around the world. The Nativities are crafted from local materials including, clay, grass, cornhusks, bark, gourds and coconuts. This year, visitors can also see the exhibition Christmas Traditions in Many Lands, which reveals how Christmas was celebrated in a variety of countries during the 19th and 20th centuries. Come again to explore the rest of the Historic District and experience the spectacular architecture and gardens at Cairnwood Estate, a gilded-age Beaux Arts historic mansion, and take a tour of the Gothic-Romanesque Bryn Athyn Cathedral.
