The Doylestown Historical Society has teamed up with the County theater to present a special screening of “Our Town Story…Doylestown” on Sunday, February 7 at 4 pm.

The Video History Series Committee has pulled, from our library of over 100 interviews with Doylestonians, this short film which provides a glimpse of the citizens, anecdotes and historic events that make Doylestown the unique place it is today.  After the screening, Doylestown Historical Society Board Chairman, Ron Strouse and Video History Series Committee Chair, Chery Halderson will lead an in-theater discussion allowing the audience to share their own favorite stories about our beloved community’s history and to share their thoughts on the film.

The DHS Speaker Series: Greg Gaskey The Artist

Greg Gaskey’s work is fundamentally linked to, and inspired by,  the bucolic landscapes of Bucks County.

For more than thirty years, Gaskey has lived and worked in Doylestown Borough, finding studio space in historic barns and open areas nearby.

Gaskey’s early works are connected to the  Doylestown Historical Society barn and park.

Welcome to the Doylestown Historical Society! Thank you for visiting!

The Doylestown Historical Society is moving forward as we grow to further preserve and celebrate the creative and historical significance of Doylestown and the surrounding communities.
Construction has begun to revitalize Doylestown Historical Park, renovate the first floor of the William Magill Barn and Robin Holloway Research Center, and create an outdoor gathering and meeting space, adjacent to the Barn.
The small park will be more accommodating to visitors, more attractive to all, with an emphasis on native plantings. It will be a true asset to DHS and the whole community. The Garden Patio, adjacent to the Research Center and Barn, will become a new space for gathering and meeting, and it will be easily accessible through a folding glass wall from the renovated first floor of the Barn and Research Center.
The Doylestown Historical Society needs your help to turn this project into a reality and build and expand on the work-and strength-that has been achieved in just over 25 years since its inception.
You can help preserve our community’s past by insuring the future of the Doylestown Historical Society and our commitment to our buildings, the park, and our research and activities. Your financial support is needed for the Doylestown Historical Society to reach their goal of $500,000. The financial support from the Board of Directors has been overwhelming and now we are asking our community to be part of this exciting goal to bring this vision to fruition.
Your donation in any amount is a significant help to our goal. The Doylestown Historical Society thanks you for your support!
