Life Texts - Cassandra Stancil Gunkel

You are invited to attend Life Texts an exhibit by Cassandra Stancil Gunkel which includes both textiles and imagery of her cultural history and lived experiences.  Cassandra is a historian and inserts her family's stories in whatever artistic timelines she explores.  She is a folklorist who captures the ephemera of local culture to share with the wide world.  A traveler who finds imaginative ways to reflect the spirit and soul of the people and places who welcome strangers like herself.  She is also a mother who shares the joys and tribulations of others who shepherd children, and other novices on the planet.  Cassandra truly embraces the folklore scholar and mentor Don Yoder's quote "be what Thou art".
