Journey Through History
Take a ride into the past on a railroad with almost 150 years of history! The New Hope Station was built by The Reading Company Railroad in 1891. Known as the Witch’s Hat because of its distinctive turret, this station is still used by passengers today. Another historic building, the Freight House, now holds the railroad gift shop. The route you’ll take was once featured in the 1914 movie series, “Perils of Pauline.”
The railroad’s most popular engine is its 1925 Baldwin Steam Locomotive, which was built in Philadelphia. They also have two diesel locomotives, several classic coaches, and a fleet of cabooses. Every car has been meticulously preserved so you can experience what it felt like to ride the rails in a simpler time.

Fall is an excellent time to ride the New Hope Railroad. The Fall Foliage Excursion is one of the region’s most popular seasonal experiences. Enjoy a 90-minute round trip to Buckingham as you enjoy stunning views of the changing leaves and learn about the landmarks you pass along the way.
