Lake Nockamixon

One of the best places for a boat ride or a hike in Bucks County is the 5,286-acre Nockamixon State Park.

Tohickon Creek, Three Mile Run and Haycock Run feed the 1,450-acre Lake Nockamixon, a rest stop for migrating waterfowl and a destination for boaters, anglers and wind-surfers! The lake has four launch ramps, a marina and boat rentals.

Visitors can also hike, bike or horseback ride the more than 50 miles of several different trails for everyone from first-timers to seasoned hikers. Pass through hardwood forests or explore the remnants of a long-forgotten summer camp. Enjoy the 18-hole disc golf course and a swimming pool!

In the winter months, the park opens the trails and lake for cross country skiing, sledding, ice skating and ice fishing.

Make a weekend out of your visit with a mini vacation stay and camp out in a family cabin. Take a drive to nearby Quakertown for some antique shopping and pass through the Knecht’s Covered Bridge that’s been standing since 1873!
