We are committed to protecting the privacy of your information. We are the Bucks County Conference and Visitors Bureau, Inc., operating under the trade name “Visit Bucks County” (referred to in this policy as “VBC”).  This document outlines our policy regarding personal information, continuing communication, website security and overall usage of VisitBucksCounty.com and all other sites operated by VBC.. Use of the website signifies your agreement to the terms and conditions of use set forth in this document. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not access or otherwise use this website.

The photos and links on VisitBucksCounty.com are for Bucks County editorial and promotional use only. 

The images are owned by individual photographers, videographers and Bucks County organizations and are not for third party use without permission from Visit Bucks County and/or the photo/video rights owner.

How We Collect and Use Your Personal Data

We may collect personal data from you in the course of our business, including through your use of our websites, by the cookies we use on our websites, and when you contact us or request information from us. This information may include your name, email, phone number, employer, mailing address, and technical information relating to your visits to our websites. Our legal bases for processing your personal information include consent given by you, our contractual relationship (i.e., if we need to do so in order to provide the services you have requested), our legitimate interest (including direct marketing to let you know about our other products and services), or our legal obligation. Keep in mind that you will always have the opportunity to ask us to remove your personal information and to cease communicating with you, as described below.

The information we obtain from you is used to fulfill submissions such as request for proposals (RFPs) and brochures by mail or to use special features of the site. We may use this information to contact you regarding your inquiry, request, use of our site, or any other matter relating to VBC’s services. We may also use this information to process your requests for information and to respond to your inquiries, as well as to send our newsletters and other updates and information from time to time. We may also use your information in order to comply with our legal and regulatory obligations, as described below in “How We Share Your Personal Data”. In order to more effectively serve you, we may share your personal data with our partners (see “How We Share Your Personal Data” below).

If you check one of our email request buttons, you may receive Bucks County-related information, updates about new website features and other travel content. You will be asked to consent to these updates, and you will have the right to withdraw your consent at any time in the manner shown on each update.

We do not track our customers over time and across third party websites to provide targeted advertising, and therefore we do not respond to Do Not Track (DNT) signals. Third parties that have content embedded on our website (such as a social media feature or link) may set cookies on a user’s browser and/or obtain information about the fact that a web browser visited our site from a certain IP address. Third parties cannot collect any other personally identifiable information from our website, however, unless you provide it to them directly.

Cookies

We currently use cookie technology on our websites. A cookie is a small amount of data stored on your computer’s hard drive that allows us to identify you and connect you with your corresponding data that resides in our database. Cookies help us to improve your experience by tracking your online browsing habits to allow for personalized advertising and other information. They also help us to determine which areas of our websites are most frequently visited. This information helps us to better understand the online habits of our customers so that we can improve their experiences on our sites. You must accept cookies in order to use all of the features and functionality of our websites. 

How We Share Your Personal Data

As a matter of policy your email address will not be sold, rented, or shared with any other business or organization except as described in this policy. You may elect to share your personal information by contacting our partners using links provided on this site, which allow you to email them in order to obtain information, make reservations, etc. You will be asked to provide information such as your mailing address, phone number and other information if you choose to provide it. On occasion, we may combine system-wide data to create aggregate reports with no individual identity data.

We may disclose information, including personal information, in special cases when we have a good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to legal requirements or comply with the legal process such as, but not limited to, situations when we are required to do so by federal, state or local laws and regulations or when we receive a subpoena or are ordered by a court to do so; (b) protect and defend our rights; or (c) act to protect the interests of our users or others. Additionally, we may, without notice to you, provide aggregate statistics about visitors to our websites, such as volume, traffic patterns and related site information to reputable third-party vendors, but these statistics will include no identifiable personal information.

How We Store and Protect Your Personal Data

We have found that our users tend to revisit the Bucks County area, and we want to keep them informed of events and other opportunities in our area. Because of that, we will keep your information on our system for ten years from the date of our last contact with you, and we will remove your data from our systems if we have not had any direct contact with you during that period. Of course, you have the right to have your information removed from our system at any time (see “Asking Us To Suppress or Remove Your Personal Data” below). Note, however, that we may be required by law to retain your personal data for a longer period.

It is important to you and to us to have up-to-date information about you. If you believe the information we have about you is not accurate or complete, please contact us at datarequest@visitbuckscounty.com so we can update your information.

You have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you (including how we used your information and with whom we shared your information). Please email us at datarequest@visitbuckscounty.com if you would like to exercise this right.

We exercise reasonable care to protect your personal information. Your information is stored on servers we control located in the United States. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. So while we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of any information you transmit to us or receive from us. This is especially true for information you transmit to us via e-mail. We have no way of protecting that information until it reaches us. Once we receive your transmission, we maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to protect your personal information.

Asking Us to Suppress or Remove Your Personal Data

If you do not wish to receive information from us in the future, you can click on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails or you can email us at datarequest@visitbuckscounty.com and we will quickly comply with your request.

If you would like us to remove your information entirely from our systems, please let us know by emailing us at datarequest@visitbuckscounty.com and we will quickly comply with your request, assuming we do not have any other obligation to keep it.

What to Do If You Have a Complaint about How We Treat Handle Personal Data

If you are concerned that your privacy may have been breached or if you have a complaint relating to our processing of your personal data, please contact us at datarequest@visitbuckscounty.com, and we will do our best to promptly deal with your complaint.

Article 4. MEETING/EVENT PLANNERS, TOUR OPERATORS, GROUP LEADERS, SPORT TOURNAMENT ORGANIZERS

Information provided by meeting planners and other travel professionals is reviewed by VBC staff to follow up on requests and develop future business. If a meeting is confidential it is our policy not to list it on any distributed information. The VBC also uses provided information for internal purposes such as e-mail contact.

Article 5. TRANSMISSION OF INFORMATION

All personal data provided to the VBC online will be handled in accordance with the VBC Online Privacy Practices. You are prohibited from posting or transmitting to or from this website any unlawful, threatening, libelous, defamatory, obscene, scandalous, inflammatory, pornographic, or profane material, or any other material that could give rise to any civil or criminal liability under the law.

Article 6. THIRD-PARTY LINKS

VisitBucksCounty.com contains links to other sites, including those of our marketing and business partners. While we try to link only to sites that share our standards and respect for privacy, we are not responsible for the privacy practices employed by other sites and those other sites have not agreed to our privacy policy.

The links provided on VisitBucksCounty.com are there for your reference and convenience. We do not control any of these websites, nor are we responsible for their content. The inclusion of a link does not imply our endorsement of the material on such websites or any association with their operators. If you decide to access any of these websites you do so entirely at your own risk and you should be aware that upon using these links you will leave VisitBucksCounty.com. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of the operators of those websites.

Article 7. PRIVACY OF CHILDREN

We do not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information, personal data or other information from children under 13 years old. In the event we learn that we have inadvertently collected such information, we will promptly delete it from our database. If you are aged 13 and younger, please do not send us any information about you such as your name, email address, or address.

Article 8. MODIFICATION OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS

VBC reserves the rights, at its sole discretion, to change, modify, add or remove any portion of this policy, in whole or in part, at any time. Modification of changes in the Agreement will be posted on the website. In addition, we will notify you by email if we have your email address in our database. VBC may change, suspend or discontinue any aspect of the website at any time, including the availability of any website feature, database, or content. VBC may also impose limits on certain features and services or restrict your access to parts or the entire website without notice or liability. By using this website you agree to be bound by any such revisions and should therefore periodically visit this page to determine the current terms of use to which you are bound.

User-generated photos and videos collected from social media comply with Visit Bucks County’s UGC Agreement Terms.
