Bucks County, PA is at the center of the 2026 World Cup. Located only 25 miles from Philadelphia and 75 miles from New York City, Bucks County is the gateway between two major host cities for the biggest sporting event in the world.

Ahead of the 2026 World Cup, soccer fans also got in on the excitement of the 2025 FIFA World Club Cup this past June and July. This tournament showcased top clubs from six international confederations, including UEFA, CONMEBOL, and AFC. Philadelphia hosted 8 matches and New York New Jersey hosted 9 matches, including the final match.

FIFA World Cup 2026 Philadelphia Dates

Philadelphia will host six matches at Lincoln Financial Field on the following dates:

  • Sunday, June 14: Côte D'Ivoire vs. Ecuador at 7 p.m.

  • Friday, June 19: Brazil vs. Haiti at 9 p.m.

  • Monday, June 22: France vs. the winner of the Iraq, Bolivia, Suriname playoff at 5 p.m.

  • Thursday, June 25: Curaçao vs. Côte D'Ivoire at 4 p.m.

  • Saturday, June 27: Croatia vs. Ghana at 5 p.m.

  • Saturday July 4: Round of 16 (which is also America’s Semiquincentennial!) 

 

FIFA World Cup 2026 New York City New Jersey Dates

New York New Jersey will host eight matches at MetLife Stadium on the following dates:

  • Saturday, June 13: Brazil vs. Morocco at 6 p.m. 

  • Tuesday, June 16: France vs. Senegal at 3 p.m. 

  • Monday, June 22: Norway vs. Senegal at 8 p.m. 

  • Thursday, June 25: Ecuador vs. Germany at 4 p.m. 

  • Saturday, June 27: Panama vs. England at 5 p.m. 

  • Tuesday, June 30: Round of 32

  • Sunday, July 5: Round of 16

  • Sunday, July 19: Final Match 

In the group stage matches, qualified teams initially compete against other countries in their semi-randomly assigned groups. The top two teams from each group then move into the single-elimination knockout stage, which is a bracket made up of the round of the top 32 soccer teams, the round of the top 16 soccer teams, the quarter-finals, the semi-finals and the World Cup Final.
