With its breathtaking autumn foliage, it’s no wonder that Bucks County comes alive in the fall, with plenty of traditions to delight visitors and residents alike. We’ve collected some of our favorite fall events and activities in town to help you create a bucket list. You won’t want to miss any of these seasonal staples.
Visit a Pumpkin Patch or Corn Maze
Embrace the fall season with family-friendly activities at one of many local farms, like Hellerick’s Adventure Farm and Froehlich’s Farm. Hayrides and corn mazes typically kick off in early to mid-September and allow you to immerse yourself in the harvest atmosphere. You can also pick your own perfect pumpkins (plus gourds and sunflowers, too) to take a piece of fall home with you.
Go Apple Picking at a Local Orchard
Apple picking is another fun and festive staple. Pick-your-own apple orchards allow you to stroll through the trees, enjoying a lovely crisp day, and then take home enough bounty to snack on or bake into your favorite treat. Many orchards like Solebury Orchards also sell cider and apple-related baked goods, such as apple cider donuts.
At Styer Orchard, you can enjoy a hayride to the apple fields. Picking season varies but often begins in late August and continues through the fall. Check the orchard’s website for details on what types of apples and other fruits are currently available.
Attend a Fall Festival
Celebrate all things autumn at one of Bucks County’s fall festivals. FallFest at Shady Brook Farm runs from mid-September to the end of October and features an epic corn maze, hay rides, live music, pumpkin picking, and plenty of delicious treats. After dark, things get a little spooky (but still fun for the kids) with a Halloween light show, haunted attractions, a moonlit maze, and a bonfire.
Or head to Peddler’s Village for Scarecrows in the Village, where you can enjoy more than 150 scarecrows created by community members and organizations. After you vote for your favorite, discover other seasonal activities, plus lots of unique shopping and dining.

Discover Autumn Landscapes
When it comes to seasonal colors, there’s no bad view in the county! But for some of the best, check out the Top 10 Ways to Experience Fall Foliage, which includes scenic hikes, bike rides, and drives. While colors usually peak in mid-October, this varies each year depending on the weather.
We recommend climbing Bowman’s Hill Tower for an aerial view or strolling down the Delaware Canal Towpath. After you’ve taken lots of photos, consider stopping for a picnic to spend more time among the leaves.
Explore Farm Markets & Homegrown Goodies
Stop by a farm market for all your favorite fall treats, like fresh-pressed cider, cider donuts, and caramel apples. Shady Brook’s Farm Market has been selling farm-fresh produce, specialty foods, fresh dairy, and even locally bottled wines for decades. They also serve lunch and offer baked goods and hand-dipped ice cream. In the fall, a fan favorite is Uncle Dave’s Apple Cider Donut Sandwich, featuring vanilla ice cream between two fresh, cinnamon-sugar-coated apple cider donuts, a treat visitors rave about.
At None Such Farm Market, enjoy fall decor and fresh food from local farms, including pumpkin chocolate chip quickbread and Jewish Apple Cake.
